Bell Aliant announces cash distribution for August 2010

Bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund (the Fund or Bell Aliant) (TSX: BA.UN) today declared its cash distribution of $0.2417 per unit for the month of August 2010. The distribution will be paid on September 15, 2010 to unitholders of record at the close of business on August 31, 2010. The declaration of future distributions is subject to approval by the Bell Aliant Trustees. To the extent that any portion of these distributions is designated as dividends paid by Bell Aliant, that portion is designated to be an "eligible dividend" pursuant to the Income Tax Act (Canada) and corresponding provincial legislation. Bell Aliant reports second quarter 2010 results

Bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund (Bell Aliant or the Fund) (TSX: BA.UN) today announced its second quarter 2010 financial results for the Fund and Bell Aliant Regional Communications Holdings, LP (Bell Aliant Holdings LP). "We continue to accelerate our strategic objectives and our results are in line with our expectations, including the reduction in operating expenses of over $20 million from the second quarter of 2009 as we reset our cost structure," said Karen Sheriff, president and chief executive officer. "While competitive expansion in our territories continued to reduce our local service customer base, our NAS declines in the second quarter improved substantially from both the first quarter of this year and the same quarter a year ago." Bell Aliant conversion receives court approval

Bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund (the Fund or Bell Aliant) (TSX: BA.UN) announced today that it has received approval from the Nova Scotia Supreme Court for the proposed conversion from an income trust to a corporate structure. Once completed, the transaction will result in the conversion of Bell Aliant's income trust structure into a dividend paying public corporation to be named "Bell Aliant Inc.", with the trading symbol of TSX: BA. Under the conversion, Fund unitholders will receive one common share of the resulting public corporation for each unit held. The conversion remains subject to certain conditions, including regulatory and other approvals, and is expected to be completed on or about January 1, 2011.
